My theme

Well, I've decided on what my posting theme is going to be. As I'm an interested amateur when it comes to my grandfathers work I'm going to leave the real work to the professionals.

A common theme in John Bowlby's work is the 'environment of adaptedness' and want to ponder that that is (or was) and how far modern life has departed from it.

We, in the western, developed world, are living a particular lifestyle which is not the one in which we evolved. Many aspects of our lifestyle are new and novel having not been around for very long. As a species, homo sapiens have been around for about 200,000 years having evolved from earlier species. So, while we've evolved in one environment we're living in a different one. I'm interested in the problems and issues that this raises.
