Because that's what it would be like to live in one of these vertical skyscraper farms.
I guess with enough HVAC you could separate the living areas from the farming areas but why bother when farms do it so much better. What are all the roots and humidity going to do the the building structure? How is the soil going to be fertilised?
Plus, harvesting looks like a very manual, labour intensive process. No combines here.
Food's going to have to be really expensive and skyscrapers are going to have to be really cheap.
