I think that what really p'd off Prof Nutt was that, on telling the home secretary what he (Prof Nutt) was the truth, Prof Nutt was accused of playing politics.
If the home secretary had simply said thanks for your report however we're going to do something else, that would be one thing. However to claim that stating truth is playing politics is really going to P off a scientist.
