Like the secret service agent in this BBC interview I've stood in the Texas School Book Depository on the sixth floor near the window Lee Harvey Oswald was at and looked down to the point on the road where JFK was when he was shot. Frankly, it's not a hard shot.
Here's a picture from the Warren Commission via wikipedia that shows that JFK's car was moving almost directly away from the Oswald's position at the time of the shooting:
As far as I'm concerned all it took was one man, one gun and a little ability to shoot a rear seat passenger in a car being driven away from the shooter.
I think the best thing the Soviets did with Lee Harvey Oswald was to piss him off and send him back to the US as a loose canon.
