Ok, so Heartbleed was something of an Open Source fail.
What it does show is just what an important contribution to the economy Open Source makes.
Code and security reviews are boring and it would be nice if Open Source users would contribute to open source programs and perhaps even sponsor code reviews.
Google, Facebook, Twitter, IBM, RedHat et al? Time to act?
(I though about adding Amazon but am under the impression that they don't release much Open Source code.)
